Orthodontics is treatment to straighten teeth, align the bite, and improve function of teeth as well as appearance. The treatment can include braces with brackets and wires and appliances to expand the arch and change the bite.
Treatment can take anywhere from several months to several years depending on the nature of the problem. Treatment during childhood usually takes less time because the jaws are still developing.
